Tukatech Forms Software Alliance
Los Angeles–based CAD/CAM provider Tukatech Inc. has formed a partnership with Baltimore-based Polygon Software to market Polygon’s business management software applications under the Tukatech umbrella of solutions and services.
Polygon provides a suite of collaborative product development applications to manage sourcing, supply-chain flow and manufacturing.
The products will be marketed under the new TUKAplan division. The suite covers all the steps involved in making apparel, from pre-production to delivery. Applications address product specifications, costing, order entry, inventory control, production and financials as well as other steps. “The aim is to cut out all the manual steps that force errors and delays,” said Tukatech Chief Executive Ram Sareen.
“It is our prime objective to reduce the cycle time and cost of manufacturing in the cut-and-sew industry. It can be done,” he said, pointing to the automotive industry.
“As the industry continues to refocus on product marketing, the integration of information technology into product development, manufacturing and other processes becomes more critical than ever,” added Polygon’s Mickey Wohlmuth. —R.M.
