Safeguard Measure
The American Apparel & Footwear Association of Washington, D.C., joined by three other trade groups, has written the U.S. Department of Commerce to object to any considerations being made regarding China Textile Safeguard petitions on products under quota through 2004. The AAFA noted that the China Textile Safeguard was negotiated to address any market disruption that might occur following the lifting of quotas. Other groups signing the letter include the National Retail Federation, the U.S. Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel, and the Retail Industry Leaders Association.
