San Francisco Fashion Week '04: Fornarina

It was all ’80s-inspired fun at the Fornarina show, where a model wearing a strapless dress in green stripes and pink dots opened the show for the Italian brand, whose U.S. offices are based in Los Angeles. A red-and-navy striped fitted jacket was paired with a prairie skirt, and a cutaway jacket was paired with a pleat-back denim mini. A longer version of the cutaway coat was rendered in denim, and the three-zipper stovepipe pant was updated with the zipper placed on the inside of the calf. Other strong looks included sleek plaid knickers, an A-line toile skirt and a flirty pink checked mini paired with a kelly-green sweater. The look was completed by ’80s-inspired pumps from the company’s shoe collection. —Alison N. Nieder
