San Francisco Fashion Week '04: Besnik
There was a rock ’n’ roll edge to the Besnik show, which included slashed tees and micro-mini-dresses in black, gray and red, as well as tailored pieces. Strong looks from Albania-born San Francisco– based designer Besnik included a color-blocked motocross jacket in black, yellow and turquoise and carwash skirts made out of zippers. The carwash skirts were shown in various lengths, from micro-mini to knee-length. The zippers could be adjusted for a curve-hugging silhouette, a flirty allaround fringe or a strategically placed kick pleat. Another strong style was a three-quarter- length fitted jacket in denim with red felt and silver taping. —Alison N. Nieder
