Confetti's Chuck Goldstein Dies at 63
Charles “Chuck” Goldstein, longtime sales executive and founder of the Confetti apparel line, passed away on Sept. 6 after suffering a heart attack. He was 63.
Goldstein founded women’s moderate line Confetti about 12 years ago after spending most of his career as a sales executive for Larry Goldberg & Associates in Los Angeles. Confetti will continue to operate under the direction of his son Marty.
Goldstein was born in New York in 1941. He entered the apparel business through the urging of his uncle, a longtime sales representative. When Goldstein joined Larry Goldberg & Associates, he became one of the first sales representatives based in the California Mart (now called the California Market Center). In the early 1990s, he decided to launch an apparel company catering to specialty shops looking for locally produced sportswear and lingerie. The line continues to be strong thanks to Goldstein’s high standards for quality and ser vice, said his wife, Rohda, who serves as the secretary and treasurer of Confetti.
Goldstein will be remembered for his gregarious nature, according to Rohda. “He was very outgoing. He talked to people in elevators and anyone who wanted to talk,” she said.
Goldstein’s sudden passing took many of his clients by surprise, said Henry Cherner, principal of AIMS software, a supplier to Confetti.
“He was well-liked,” Cherner said. “I just saw him at MAGIC [International].”
A service was held at Mount Sinai in Los Angeles. Goldstein is survived by his wife; his two sons, Marty and Richard; and his two grandchildren. —Robert McAllister
