MODAC Gala Postponed
The Museum of Fashion Designers and Creators (MODAC) has postponed its “Second Decade” fund-raising gala until May 21, 2005. The event was originally scheduled for Dec. 4 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
The postponement was made to give MODAC and officials from the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department more time for planning, said MODAC founder Irene Kasmer.
The event will honor top fashion industry and civic leaders for their contributions to the apparel and textile industries. Proceeds will help purchase a permanent home and satellite offices for the museum, which will house thousands of vintage-clothing pieces and archives.
A selection of the pieces will be on display during the May gala. For more information, call (213) 622-1046, or e-mail modacmuseum@yahoo.com. —Robert McAllister
