Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring '05: Rock & Republic and Susan Holmes Swimwear
It takes the right ingredients to spice up a Rock & Republic runway show. For its third Los Angeles Fashion Week show, the Los Angeles–based company tapped former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham to add her Posh Spice sensibilities to the contemporary denim brand.
Beckham demonstrated her balanced fashion sense during her designer debut at Rock & Republic’s star-studded show, presented by Cadillac on Oct. 29 at a massive sound stage inside Culver City Studios.
On the highway-inspired catwalk, Beckham’s take on Rock & Republic included a smorgasbord of wearable, skin-conscious day and evening looks, ranging from a scanty denim jumpsuit to a sensuously urbane halter dress.
Sharing the spotlight with Rock & Republic was rocker spouse–turned–designer Susan Holmes. Her glam-slam collection of ultra-sexy, yet sophisticated swimwear enraptured front-row frequenter Paris Hilton and hiphop artist Eve, who swooned over a polka-dot one-piece accentuated with a flirty bustle worthy of Betty Paige’s derriegrave;re. —Mark Pagaduan
