Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring '05: Fashion Business Inc.

Cardona’s presentation was preceded by a show featuring the designs of several Fashion Business Inc. members.

Lunada Bay’s Becca collection showcased flirty bikinis and sexy onepieces with cutouts in iridescent fabrics and lizard prints. West Hollywood, Calif.–based retailer and designer Timoteo Campos highlighted menswear from his Timoteo collection, including crisp shirts with contrast cuffs. Sugar Moods by MaryLou displayed strapless, flared and tiered dresses in polka dots, Provence prints and florals. Hartnell designer Hannah Hartnell showed lingerie-inspired dresses and separates, opening with a dip-dyed mini-dress with a pleated skirt and following up with liquid satin dresses and lace-trimmed tops. Glaza designers Marina Toybina and Ashton Hirota updated their Gothic couture looks with shades of pink and gray. Their men’s, women’s and children’s collections featured layers, corset lacing, and patched and raw-edged fabrics.

The event put the spotlight on a few of FBI’s members and kicked off the opening of the FBI boutique on eBay. The online store, located at stores.ebay.com/Fashion-Business-Incorporated, features samples and overstock from several Los Angeles designers, including Cardona, Trina Turk, Split, Max Studio and Von Dutch. —Alison A.
