New Owners, Price Hikes
Invista, the newly formed fiber division of Koch Industries Inc., is raising prices. Koch, having just completed its acquisition of Invista from DuPont, has merged its branded polyester business with the Invista fiber division, which includes Lycra and Tactel. Koch announced a price increase on nylon yards in the United States and Canada will go into effect in June. The company said it levied the 10 percent price increase after watching the cost of raw materials rise by more than 100 percent during the past 36 months.
