California Labels Up for Dallas Fashion Awards

A number of West Coast brands are among 45 companies named as finalists for the 29th annual Dallas Fashion Awards.

Sue Wong, Da-Nang, Juicy Couture, Mandalay, Seven for All Mankind, Chip & Pepper, AG Jeans/Adriano Goldschmied and Hot Kiss will represent California when the awards are announced at an Oct. 23 awards ceremony in Dallas.

Retailers attending the Aug. 19–23 Women’s and Children’s Apparel and Accessories Market will vote for their favorites in 15 categories. The finalists were nominated by a group of fashion editors, trend experts and industry association representatives.

Other West Coast lines nominated include childrenswear brand Monkeywear, Casablanca Bridal and accessories labels Mary Frances and Francesco Biasia.

Other finalists include J. Lo by Jennifer Lopez, Laundry by Shelli Segal, Ecko Unlimited, Sean John, David Meister, Lilly Pulitzer, Joseph Abboud, Calvin Klein, Elie Tahari and Shani.

The event will benefit the Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS and the Fashion Group International Scholarship Fund. —Robert McAllister
