Election Wear
British retailer—and no stranger to controversy—French Connection has launched a small T-shirt line to encourage people to vote in the November U.S. elections. The company raised some eyebrows several years ago when it began using its “fcuk” logo in place of the words “French Connection United Kingdom.” The limited-edition election T-shirts will feature graphics of Uncle Sam, British film star Aunt Sam and the slogan “fcuk you, I’m voting.” The shirts will be offered to the delegates attending the Democratic National Convention in Boston and will be for sale in French Connection’s 25 stand-alone stores and on the company’s Web site, www.fcuk.com. The T-shirts will also be distributed on the Rock the Vote Bus Tour, which will travel to U.S. college campuses, musical concerts and political conventions between now and election day.
