Tiffany Lights Up Pasadena
One of luxury’s top brands will move into Old Town Pasadena in fall 2005. Then, shoppers will be able to look forward to New York–based Tiffany & Co. opening a 5,600-square-foot store on 64 W. Colorado Blvd., in the middle of a retail area known as a place where people walk to their shopping and dining destinations.
The luxury company, best known for its engagement diamonds and time pieces, operates nine stores in California and had been considering opening a new store in Pasadena for a few years, according to Nellie Sedigh, vice president of Tiffany’s Los Angeles market.
Tiffany’s new Pasadena neighbors will include such familiar names in many well-regarded shopping centers as Armani Exchange, J. Crew, Banana Republic and Victoria’s Secret.
Sedigh said she hoped Tiffany would find a place in its new neighborhood as “lifestyle partners” to the other stores. “We’re there to celebrate anniversaries, graduations, retirements and achievements,” she said.
The store’s design will be a mix between the New York flagship of Tiffany & Co. and Pasadena’s Mission-style architecture. Tiffany’s popular Atlas clock will stand in a landmark tower outside the store. The inside of the store will feature wood paneling and stainless steel–framed showcases.
A square foot of commercial space on Colorado Boulevard can range from $3.25 to $11, according to Ara Karapetian, a real estate agent with Dilbeck Realty in Pasadena. —A.A.
