Warnaco Chooses SAP
New York–based Warnaco Inc. is adding enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to streamline its global operations.
The company is using a suite of programs from German company SAP AG, which operates an apparel and footwear division out of Newtown Square, Pa. SAP’s ERP product is aimed at coordinating production planning, manufacturing, distribution, inventory, finance and order management processes through an online database.
“The implementation of the SAP Apparel and Footwear solution is an important step toward building our company’s controls over production costs, streamlining supply-chain visibility and improving customer service,” said Joseph R. Gromek, president and chief executive officer of Warnaco. “We believe this will ultimately support seamless integration of our systems company-wide.”
“This project is about business process optimization,” added Lawrence R. Rutkowski, Warnaco’s chief financial officer.
The implementation will begin immediately.
