Factory 2-U Sold
San Diego–based off-price retailer Factory 2-U Stores Inc. has signed a deal to sell nearly all of its assets to a company formed by a joint partnership among National Stores Inc., The Alamo Group, The Great American Group and The Ozer Group LLC. Factory 2-U Acquisition LLC will purchase Factory 2-U’s assets, inventory and lease obligations for its stores and distribution center for approximately $28 million. Gardena, Calif.–based National Stores runs 72 Fallas Paredes off-price stores in Arizona, California, Texas, Nevada and New Mexico. The acquisition is subject to approval by the bankruptcy court. Factory 2-U filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January.
