Lectra Releases New Apparel Design Software
Paris-based Lectrahas released a new software package aimed at simplifying the design process for apparel manufacturers.
Called Kaledo Style, the software covers garment design, color testing, fabric combinations and storyboard creation and can be integrated into a collaborative system, said Jean- Christophe Pochet, Lectra’s design product manager. It can incorporate style, sizing and component information, enabling designers to communicate to internal teams and external business partners.
“Teams can share trends and themes digitally across an organization,” Pochet said. “Designers can generate seasonal color palettes with Kaledo Style color libraries, including Pantone, or capture spectral color data using a spectrophotometer.
By adding a color-match option, they can display and print accurate colors for rapid approval.”
The application incorporates drawing tools and features that allow users to conduct symmetrical drawing and editing and to customize stitch lines. Designers can test combinations and colorways and scan or import fabrics from other applications.
Designs can be arranged on storyboards to share with in-house design teams and outside sources. For more information, call Lectra’s Los Angeles offices at (562) 903-1340.
