ProfitLogic Acquires Competitor
Boston-based ProfitLogic Inc., which markets pricing software for retailers, has acquired its main competitor, Cincinnati-based Spotlight Solutions, for an undisclosed sum.
Both companies provide retailers with pricing-optimization software that tracks consumer demand using analytics and other means. The companies report their clients can generally realize between 5 percent and 10 percent of gross-margin enhancements.
Industry leader ProfitLogic has gained clients such as J.C. Penney Co. Inc., Bloomingdale’s Inc., Marshall Field’s and Gap Inc. Spotlight has nabbed clients such as Ames Department Stores Inc. and Meijer Inc. —R.M.
