Consultants Launch Service for Small Manufacturers

California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC), a nonprofit group based in Los Angeles, has launched a new service to help small manufacturers and distributors manage their supply chains.

The supply-chain management service will cover areas such as warehouse management, transportation analysis, routing and loading strategies, import/export development, design and implementation picking and sorting methods, and information technology.

CMTC’s consultants have more than 15 years of supply-chain management experience in the apparel, auto, health care and electronics industries. The group is funded through federal and state grants and private- industry fees. In addition, it has a contract with the California Employment Training Panel, which offers on-site employee training.

“Our team employs a proven and comprehensive approach, utilizing contemporary lean principles designed to eliminate waste and streamline operations with cost-effective solutions,” said Rick McIntosh, leader of CMTC’s supply-chain management team.

CMTC’s services cover companies based in Southern California and the San Joaquin Valley. Fees vary according to each company’s size and type. For more information, visit www.cmtc.com. —Robert McAllister
