Floosie Lingerie

The Roxy nightclub in West Hollywood, Calif., has launched many musical careers. On Halloween, it may have launched a fashion career.

Malibu, Calif.–based Nami Gabbard debuted her Floosie Lingerie line with an example of fashion show–as–theatre, as models mutely played out a scenario of groupies getting ready for a rock concert. (A traditional runway show was too dull for her taste, Gabbard said.)

Gabbard’s line featured wearable lacy lingerie in bold solids and select floral prints. With vintage glamour as their inspiration, the pieces derived primarily from Gabbard’s Valentine’s Day 2004 collection.

Boy-cut briefs dominated the show, bringing emphasis to the hips and complementing low-rise pants. Gabbard recommended wearers let their boy briefs peek slightly above their pants in lieu of a thong. “I’m so over thongs,” she said. —C.M.C.
