New Software Aids in Customs Compliance

Avery Dennison Retail Information Services has rolled out a new version of its InfoChain Express shipping software to help retailers and manufacturers comply with U.S. Customs’ 24-Hour Advance Manifest Rule.

Version 2.0 generates packing plans that meet specific shipping requirements, electronic advanced shipment notices (ASNs) and other data companies will need to meet the 24-hour rule that applies to all U.S. imports.

The release also includes a user interface and task-oriented work-flow system that minimize the amount of end-user training required, said the company. The software can handle transmission methods including VAN, FTP and e-mail, and it supports the printing of UPC tickets and UCC 128 carton labels in multiple formats onsite or through Avery’s service bureau.
