Employment Down
California lost 13,100 jobs in April, according to the Employment Development Department. This marks the third consecutive month of nonfarm job losses for the state. Still, the state unemployment rate has been flat at 6.7 percent during the past three months—although some analysts say those unemployed for extended periods stop searching for work and are not counted.
