DMC Names New Merchandising Exec
The Dallas Market Center has named Shelli Mers Morgan director of leasing and merchandising for contemporary and young-contemporary divisions.
Morgan has been a merchandising consultant with the DMC since February. She was previously a merchandiser for Nordstrom, where she held several buying positions in Seattle, Denver and Chicago during the past 13 years. Most recently, she was the Midwest buyer for Savvy, one of Nordstrom’s contemporary-apparel departments.
“Shelli’s long-standing experience and respect within the contemporary-apparel business will be an asset as we build the new apparel marketplace in Dallas,” said Bill Winsor, president and chief executive officer of the DMC.
The DMC is planning to move apparel vendors currently based at the Dallas International Apparel Mart into a new venue, Fashion Center Dallas, at the World Trade Center next March. The center will devote about 1 million square feet of space to apparel.
“The opportunity to help develop a next-generation marketplace in Dallas is truly exciting,” Morgan said. —Robert McAllister
