Apparel Companies Lend a Hand
Apparel companies are lending a hand to troops serving overseas. Volunteer projects such as Treats for Troops are putting packages together for the men and women stationed in the Persian Gulf.
Among the items troops need are socks, briefs, boxers and women’s underwear, said Karen Gill, a volunteer at Treats for Troops. Gill said Chatsworth, Calif.–based Keepers Industries donated 30 dozen pairs of socks.
“It’s something that we can do, and we want to do anything we can to help out,” said Keepers Industries spokesperson Becky Saltoon. —Claudia Figueroa
