Stores Closing
Spiegel Inc., the Downers Grove, Ill.–based catalog retailer, announced plans to close 60 of its Eddie Bauer retail locations, including seven stores in California. Spiegel is currently restructuring its business as part of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company will also lay off about 900 employees. Spiegel must wait for Bankruptcy Court approval before shuttering the stores.
