Tukatech and Justwin Ink Distribution Partnership
New York-based software firm Justwin Technologies Inc. is aligning with Los Angeles- based Tukatech Inc. in a deal that will add Justwin’s Collaborative Product Commerce solutions to Tukatech’s line of CAD/CAM and cutting-room equipment.
Justwin’s solutions are designed to streamline product development by managing and tracking specs, sourcing and other processes through the supply chain.
“This was the one area missing at Tukatech,” said Paul Clarke, vice president of sales for Justwin. “It’s needed to tie everything together.”
Collaboration software is not unfamiliar to Tukatech; chief executive officer Ram Sareen sold Gerber Technology’s PDM product for years before founding Tukatech.
The companies will coordinate their sales and support teams, adding Justwin staff to Tukatech’s team to smooth the transition, said Clarke.
The companies expect the partnership will help Justwin reach a broader base of apparel and sewn-products customers and allow Tukatech to add supply-chain management tools to its line of design and pattern-making software, plotters, spreaders and cutters.
“It is our prime objective to reduce the cycle time and cost of manufacturing in the cut-and-sew industry,” said Sareen. “It can be done—the automotive industry is a prime example of a global manufacturing scenario that is no different than mass customization with very little inventory and work in progress. In apparel, the missing ingredients are the information and technology.
Justwin’s products are truly a great addition to our open systems, and their technology is far superior to other competitive products.”
“As the industry continues to refocus on product marketing, the integration of CAD into product development and other processes becomes more critical than ever,” added Clarke. —Robert McAllister
