Belle of The New Mart
Belle Showroom’s bright and airy 1,200- square-foot loft space in The New Mart is clean and modern with minimal deacute;cor. There are frostedglass tables, simple wood chairs and a white chaise longue.
Showroom owner Cary Parsons chose eight women’s contemporary lines to fill her recently acquired space on The New Mart’s fourth floor.
There is Saint Grace, a basic T-shirt collection made with woven fabrics and novelty prints, such as Hawaiian scenes and Western motifs. The shirts start at $20 wholesale.
Ladies of the Canyon is a 20-piece designer tops-and-bottoms collection that features 1980s-influenced styles, such as striped polo shirts ($25 wholesale), stretch cotton miniskirts ($50 wholesale), halter tops ($35 wholesale) and corduroy knickers ($35 wholesale).
The new showroom also carries Binetti, designer sportswear created by New York–based Diego Binetti, who used to be the head designer for Jill Stuart. For Fall 2003 and Holiday 2003, the 20-piece collection features chiffon, embellished T-shirts ($60 wholesale), wool trousers ($148 wholesale), cashmere sweaters ($104 wholesale) and wool-striped trench coats ($300 wholesale).
Reo Starr’s contemporary denim line targets customers between the ages of 16 and 40 with stretch-denim jeans (from $55 to $58 wholesale), stretch-cotton twill chino trousers ($55 wholesale) and stretch-corduroy pants ($55 wholesale).
Heza’s 25-piece contemporary sportswear collection features Asianprint charmeuse dresses with kimono sleeves ($115 wholesale), silk tweed miniskirts ($70 wholesale) and a satin, fitted jacket with eyehook closures ($115).
The showroom also features two lingerie collections. Underwoo has novel lingerie and loungewear pieces, including lace thong underwear ($15 wholesale) and cotton thermal tops ($25 wholesale). Floosie Lingerie’s pin-up-girl-inspired collection features delicate silk-chiffon bras ($18 wholesale), chiffon bloomers ($21 wholesale), stretch French-lace camisoles ($24 wholesale) and French-lace boy shorts ($26.50 wholesale).
The showroom’s accessory line, Woo, offers cashmere coin purses ($35 wholesale) and leather handbags and totes ($135 wholesale).
