Lunada Bay to Bow David & Goliath Swim
Lunada Bay will show its playful side during the July 19–23 run of the Miami Swim Show.
The Anaheim, Calif.-based swimwear maker signed a licensing agreement with designer/ animator Todd Goldman of David & Goliath to produce a line of youthful and trendy swimwear for young women under the David & Goliath label.
“We saw a need for fun, novelty swimwear,” said David & Goliath Founder Todd Goldman. “Our T-shirt and pajama customers were asking for swim and we thought Lunada Bay would be the perfect fit.”
The 57-piece separates collection uses Tactel tricot fabrications in black, red, yellow, blue and pink in triangle and halter styles with brief-style and side-tie bikini bottoms. The line also features a modest collection of beach coverups, such as cotton miniskirts and beach shorts. Wholesale price points range from $15 to $24.
David & Goliath features heat-transfer, silk-screened and embroidered graphics featuring light-hearted imagery and phrases such as “Bowl-O-Rama,” “Softy’s Ice Cream” and “Chillin’ Penguin.”
Lunada Bay is known for its trendy and sexy lines of swimwear under the Becca, Bebe, Lucky Brand and Mossimo labels.
The swim manufacturer got a great response from retailers when it debuted David & Goliath at MAGIC International in February.
A spokeswoman at Lunada Bay said the collection will be geared toward specialty stores and better department stores. Delivery dates begin Oct. 31.
