Swift Layoffs
Atlanta-based Swift Denim announced plans to cut about 300 jobs at its facility in Columbus, Ga. The denim maker said the cutbacks will allow it to reduce its weekly denim production by 23 percent to 1.1 million yards. Swift is owned by New York–based Galey & Lord, which is currently reorganizing its business after filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year.
