ISI Develops Compliance Tools for AB633
Glendale, Calif.-based ISI Systems, which markets payroll software for the apparel industry, has customized its Barcode-Plus program to help employers comply with new regulations imposed by California state assembly bills 633 and 2509.
Recent amendments to AB633 now require manufacturers and contractors to document all contracted work on pay stubs. AB2509, adopted in 2001, also requires employers to report all piece-work jobs.
“For example, if an employee gets paid 5 cents per button for certain jobs and if a contractor did x amount of work at 10 cents each for J.C. Penney or whoever, this now has to be reported on check stubs,’ said ISI’s president, Mauro Romo. “We’re the only company doing this with automation.”
Barcode-Plus also is capable of producing labels that employers must attach to check stubs detailing other work as required by new laws. In addition, the company has modules and readers for UPC shipping, time and attendance tracking, year-to-date reports and other payroll functions.
