Self Esteem Taps Dynasty Footwear
Los Angeles-based juniors manufacturer Self Esteem has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Dynasty Footwear Ltd. to produce hip, trendy footwear for juniors and girls.
“We are very excited about working with such strong partners in the development of Self Esteem footwear,” said Self Esteem’s Molly Robbins, vice president of licensing. “In addition to its impressive design capabilities, Dynasty has excellent sourcing and distribution capabilities in the junior and girls’ footwear business.”
Self Esteem’s new footwear collection received high marks from retailers who caught an early glimpse of the line when it had a soft launch at the Fashion Footwear Association in New York, said Robbins. The line was officially launched at the Feb. 8–11 run of the Women’s Shoe Association show in Las Vegas.
The line focuses on four themes: folkloric, sporty, schoolgirl and vintage looks, with details such as embroidery, charms, chains and butterfly zippers. Styles include sandals, flipflops, sneakers, clogs and step-ins.
Initial deliveries are scheduled for Backto- School 2003.
“We plan on making Self Esteem footwear America’s destination for ’fun fashion’ at price points that the tween and junior can afford,” said Dynasty’s Stacey Simon, brand manager, adding that the collection will retail from $20 to $55 for juniors and $20 to $35 for girls.
El Segundo, Calif.-based Dynasty has produced footwear for more than 30 years for clients such as Bugle Boy, London Under Ground and Mary Kate & Ashley. The footwear maker also has two in-house brands, Seychelles and BC Footwear.
