Cherish Sets Up Trim, Knitting Shop
Los Angeles-based manufacturing consultant Victor Kim and his company, Cherish International, has acquired TNS Mills in the Los Angeles garment district and has set up shop manufacturing private-label knitwear as well as findings and trimmings.
Kim recently took over the TNS mill at 812 Matteo St. from the previous owner, who retired due to illness. The mill includes 24 flat-knitting machines on which Cherish workers will produce sweaters for the junior private-label market. In addition, the company will be producing tape, bands, collars and cuffs for all aspects of the apparel industry.
“Most trim buyers have imported trims or bought from importers because of its price. These imports often cause disaster due to late delivery, inferior quality, volume of minimum requirement and high transportation cost,” said Kim. “We can deliver sweaters within four weeks, with low-volume minimum requirement and at affordable price.”
Kim will also present a seminar at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at MAGIC International on “Merchandising and Marketing for Asian- American consumers.” The seminar will take place in room S103 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. For more information, call (213) 675-2127. —Robert McAllister
