Staci Schubert
Staci Schubert described her hippie-style, rock ’n’ roll handbags as “little pieces of art.”
“I wanted to design handbags that had individuality and made a statement about pop culture today hellip; and allow someone to express themselves in a really fun way,” said the former graphic designer and graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.
The handbags, made from imported leather, are handcrafted with silver riveting, one-of-a-kind raw-edge flaps and leather appliqueacute;s.The appliqueacute; designs include leaf-shaped lotuses and iron-cross emblems that are sometimes finished with embroidery.Schubert will sign the inside of each bag.
The handbags come in three colors—red, black and brown—and three sizes—a briefcase clutch ($57 wholesale), a medium-size handbag with a 22-inch strap and cellular-phone pocket ($62 wholesale), and a wider medium-size version with a 32-inch strap ($68 wholesale). Satisfy My Soul in Laguna Beach, Calif., and Pink C in Honolulu carry the 1 1/2-year-old line. For more information and images of the bags, visit www.stacischubert.com.
