Los Angeles Fashion Week Fall I 2003: Nataya
Deciding to depart from the Mercedes-Benz Shows L.A. marketing blitz but still stay under the same roof, Nataya designer Inga Nataya Bogomolny chose the Downtown Standard Hotel’s “Blondie” suite as the setting for her April 3 fashion show.
The Fall looks featured Victorian- and Edwardian-inspired pieces fused with a bohemian flair. Bogomolny also incorporated Russian references and 1960s American- hippie styling into the collection, which she dubbed “Psychedelic Romance.”
Notable looks included a blue silk, funnel-collar jacket paired with a velvet skirt with gore insets, a blue silk-chiffon blouse with “psychedelic” drawstring knickers, and a blush-pink chiffon dress with an unfinished hemline. —M.P.
