Los Angeles Fashion Week Fall I 2003: Frederick's of Hollywood
Smashbox Studios in Culver City was transformed into a media mosh-pit as some of Tinseltown’s most-talked-about names arrived on the red carpet April 1 for Frederick’s of Hollywood’s Fall 2003 fashion show.
The show, dubbed “The Original Sex Symbol,” featured scantily clad models who showed off a variety of lingerie looks. Styles included a lavender satin robe over a ruffled, tulle-trimmed bra, a sexy black-lace slip dress, and a feather-lined, Asian-print bustier complete with thigh-highs, C-cups and stilettos. For the finale, models took to the catwalk in a meacute;lange of mandarin-inspired pieces accessorized with fans and parasols.
The starry night also included a private auction that put celebrity-designed bras up for bidding to benefit breast-cancer charity Expedition Inspiration Take-A-Hike. —M.P.
