Brooks Brothers Gets Rodeo Drive Address
Menswear retailer Brooks Brothers has signed a long-term, $15 million lease to take over a prime Rodeo Drive address formerly occupied by Tommy Hilfiger, according to real-estate broker Insignia/ESG.
Brooks Brothers will move into the new store at 468 N. Rodeo Dr. this fall. The 22,000-square-foot unit will become the local flagship store for the 250-unit clothing chain. Brooks Brothers has 14 stores in California, including units in downtown Los Angeles and Century City.
Hilfiger, Brooks Brothers and the building’s owner, a private Beverly Hills investor, had to come to terms to cancel Hilfiger’s lease and sign on Brooks Brothers, according to Insignia. Insignia represented Hilfiger, and Dembo & Associates represented Brooks Brothers in the deal.
The location will give Brooks Brothers broader international visibility. Henry Sands Brooks founded the chain in 1818 in New York. —Robert McAllister
