Ashworth's D.C. Plans
Carlsbad-based golf apparel manufacturer Ashworth Inc. announced plans to build a $15 million U.S. distribution center on a 15.5-acre side in the Ocean Ranch Corporate Center in Oceanside. The new D.C., which will be a two-story structure with up to 300,000 square feet of space, is expected to be in use in early 2004. The new facility will handle distribution of all of the company’s labels including Ashworth and Callaway Golf Apparel, as well as any future business. The Oceanside D.C. will be approximately twice the size of the existing D.C. in Carlsbad, which is spread over three buildings. Ashworth will maintain its corporate headquarters in Carlsbad.
