Entering Mike and Millie’s contemporary showroom, a 32,000-square-foot space on the fifth floor of the California Market Center, is like visiting a theme park.
First, there is the main area, which boasts Art Deco drawings on the wall and two modern box sofas that rest on an olive brown and beige shag carpet. As you move into the separate areas of the showroom, you notice that each is decorated to complement the collection it displays.
For example, French Concept, a readyto- wear collection from Europe ($29–$69), is shown in a European country setting with patchwork details on table and chairs. Revue, a novelty sportswear collection made with suede and leather ($44–$119), is displayed in a cozy nook, complete with chaise leather chairs. Skinnie Minnie, a novelty T-shirt collection made with distress washes ($12–$30), can be viewed from a Dixieland-inspired fauxfinished bar.
“We thought it would make the space interesting if we tailored the areas to match each line,” said co-owner Millie Troll.
The showroom also represents Anac, Annie B., Berkley Collection, Big Star, Nara Camice, One Girl Who, Renfrew, Troo, Wayne Rogers Collection and Spy. —Claudia Figueroa
