H&M Founder Dies
Erling Persson, founder of Swedish retailer H&M died on Oct. 28 following a brief illness. He was 85. Persson founded the Hennes store in Sweden in 1947; in 1968 he acquired the Mauritz Widforss hunting and gun shop and changed the company name to Hennes & Mauritz, or H&M. Today the company operates more than 800 stores in 14 countries.
