Gerber Launches Online Auction Site
Gerber Technology has launched an online auction site for sales of its pre-owned and refurbished CAD/CAM product.
The company will post its own products and will act as a broker for Gerber equipment owners who want to sell their used equipment on the site, which is found through a link at www.gerbertechnology.com.
The site is similar to eBay and other auction sites with free browsing and bidding functions. Buyers are responsible for shipping costs and sales tax and must submit payment prior to shipment, said Gerber.
“It’s an easy, high-tech way for manufacturers to purchase quality Gerber products...at a reduced price,” said John Henderson, Gerber’s director of customer service products. “It’s a great solution for those companies which have additional production capacity requirements, but do not want to invest in new capital equipment. Many of our customers have requested our assistance in promoting and selling previously owned equipment when they purchase new equipment from Gerber or upgrade older systems.” —R.M.
