Scott, Mackie Critique at Otis
Designers Bob Mackie and Jeremy Scott recently shared their designer know-how with students at Otis College of Art and Design’s “First Fittings” projects.
Approximately 22 students designed projects with themes that were assigned to them by the designers themselves. Mackie’s students designed eveningwear inspired by a “south-of-the-border” theme, complete with sombreros, brightly colored ruffles and ethnic embroidery. Scott’s students each designed eveningwear that was meant to be the ultimate party outfit for time-travelers—clothing that could be worn to a festive occasion in any geographic location throughout the centuries.
Students’ completed works will be presented at Otis’ Scholarship Benefit and Fashion Show, to be held at 6 p.m. on May 4 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. —Claudia Figueroa
