Bella Boutique
Sun Valley, Calif.-based Bella Dahl hosted a soiree—dubbed the “Prime Time Boutique”— for costume designers and stylists on July 18 at the chic Le Dome restaurant on Sunset Plaza in Los Angeles. The restaurant’s brassiere-like ambiance made for a unique shopping experience for the guests who trickled into the Sunset Room and mingled between racks of clothes and dressing screens.
The plan was to attract TV costume designers who are preparing for the new broadcast season in the fall, said Bella Dahl publicist Margaret Schell, co-owner of Los Angeles-based firm SPR.
Costume designers from the WB’s “Family Affair,” “7th Heaven” and “Angel”; CBS’ “Bram and Alice”; and Fox’s “The Grubbs,” among others, snatched up sexy sweats, corduroy minis and stretch denim.
“The casual stuff is really cute and sexy,” said Caroline Marx, costume designer for “Bram and Alice,” who had already spent the better half of the day shopping at Nike and the Grove in Los Angeles.
Shoppers also included fashion editors from InStyle, Lucky, Glamour, Allure and Teen People. —Claudia Figueroa
