Leslie Fay Exec Polishan Sentenced
Leslie Fay exec Paul F. Polishan was sentenced to nine years in prison followed by three years of supervised release and a $900 fine following his conviction in 2000 for securities fraud. Polishan was convicted for overstating Leslie Fay’s earnings between 1989 and 1993, when he served as chief financial officer and senior vice president of the company. The New York dressmaker sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection following disclosure of the overstatement. Leslie Fay controller Donald F. Kenia, who carried out Polishan’s orders and cooperated with the government in its investigation of Leslie Fay, is currently serving a two-year sentence.
