Apparel Prices Continue to Fall
Apparel prices continue to fall, according to the Labor Department, which found a 3.2 percent drop in apparel prices in December—the steepest decline since 1952. December apparel prices fell 0.6 percent compared with the prior month. The deflationary prices are expected to continue through the year as long as consumer confidence remains low and the recession continues.
