Freeborders Gets 3-D Technology
Freeborders, a San Francisco-based B2B software provider, has partnered with Tel Aviv, Israel-based Browzwear International Ltd. to integrate that company’s 3-D imaging technology into Freeborders’ design and development applications.
Browzwear’s V-Stitcher technology will be used in Freeborders’ Collaborative Product Management (CPM) design and development applications allowing for true-to-life modeling that enables the creation of a virtual garment from a 2-D design over a 3-D body image. V-Stitcher provides for real-time 3-D response to any two-dimensional changes, displaying lifelike textures with features like draping and remote viewing via the Internet.
The aim of the technology integration is to reduce cycle times and save on development costs through more efficient sample making.
Freeborders provides design and logistical support for a number of apparel firms and retailers, including Ann Taylor, Levi Strauss & Co., Gap, Liz Claiborne and J. Crew.
“We will continue to partner with technology leaders like Browzwear to enhance our CPM solution. We see the tremendous added value that their 3-D imaging capability brings to our customers,” said Freeborders chief executive officer Ramsey Walker. —Robert McAllister
