Tech Show to Debut at Material World
Organizers of the Material World fabric exposition in Miami have set the dates of March 17–19, 2003, for Material World Technology Solutions, a new IT (information technology) show that will be part of the spring editions of Material World, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The show will feature conferences and seminars along with exhibits by leading software and other tech firms that offer solutions covering supply chain management, design/merchandising, product development, manufacturing, sourcing, ERP/business management, logistics and retail management. “The addition of the expo will make Material World a semi-annual event,” said Tim von Gal, executive vice president of marketing and development for show producer Urban Expositions.
“We expanded Material World from an annual to a semi-annual event to better serve the buying, selling and trend-forecasting needs of the sewn products industry. It’s the ideal complement to our current offerings as it enhances Material World’s presence as a one-stop resource for all members of the industry.”
Show organizers hope to attract the industry’s leading CEOs, CFOs and CIOs as well as IT, product and manufacturing managers.
“All aspects of most global sourcing initiatives are impacted by information technologyhellip;and Material World has been a magnet with growing power to attract a wide diversity of industry players,” said Alan Brooks, president of Miami-based New Generation Computing.
The tech edition of Material World will also complement a new triennial machinery-based technology show, set for April 2004 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where all three elements of IT, machinery and fabrics will be shown in one place at a show to be called One World.
