Art Center's Prada Studies
Pasadena, Calif.–based Art Center College of Design will use the Rem Koolhaas–designed Prada retail store in New York as the basis for a new course, titled Prada Environmental Design Studio, to be taught at the college’s New York campus. The class will look at how the store fuses “environments, media technology and brand narratives.” Students will work with the store’s management to design visual merchandising possibilities, exhibitions and alternative uses for the retail space. A Koolhaas-designed Prada store in Los Angeles is scheduled to open next year.
