U.S. Textile Industry Facing Worst Economic Crisis
“The U.S. textile industry is currently facing its worst economic crisis since the Great Depression,” according to the American Textile Manufacturers Institute (ATMI). The ATMI made the statement in a release objecting to the proposed elimination of duties on textiles and apparel imported from Pakistan. The American Apparel & Footwear Association has already voiced its support for the elimination of duties on goods from Pakistan.
