FBI Teams with Stitches Technology
The Fashion Business Incubator (FBI) and Stitches Technology, two Los Angeles-based not-for-profit associations, have announced an alliance to assist two separate sectors of the local apparel industry.
FBI, which assists start-up and smaller manufacturers with necessary business training and promotional opportunities, will plan future projects with Stitches Technology, a welfare-to-work training facility, to train machine operators and other related apparel production positions. Currently, FBI has more than 100 members, according to the organization. These members are new-to-the-industry designers looking for contractors to manufacture their products. Stitches Technology has a newly opened state-of-the-art facility and a staff of trained sewers, patternmakers and production personnel. FBI also conducts a series of workshops and seminars to train start-up and smaller apparel manufacturers.
