Leading Index for Mexico Fell in October

The leading index for Mexico fell in October, making it the fourth consecutive month of decline, according to New York-based research firm the Conference Board, which compiles the index. The leading index decreased 0.5 percent to 104.1. The index includes such factors as stock prices, fund rates and exchange rates. The Conference Board pointed to declines in manufacturing and oil refining as contributing to the index decline. The coincident index for Mexico, which includes unemployment, industrial production and retail sales, also declined in October, sliding 0.2 percent to 112.7, according to the Conference Board.
