Audi Signs On for Future Fashion Week Events
Audi Presents Designer Collections of Los Angeles Fashion Week will continue to spotlight local designers during Los Angeles market week, according to a recent release by Los Angeles-based public relations agency SPR, organizer of the event.
SPR co-owner Margaret Schell said the Audi show will make a second run mainly because of the overwhelming response it received during Los Angeles market week last month.
The next edition of the show, which features a mixture of well-known and up-and-coming designers under one roof, is still in the planning stages but is tentatively set for April 12, the company said.
The event’s location and featured designers have not yet been determined, although Schell and business partner Sara Stein said there are several Los Angeles-based designers who have expressed interest in taking part in the show. Schell said the company plans to continue using the same format as was used for the debut show, which featured back-to-back designer presentations by Cornell Collins, David Cardona, Eduardo Lucero, Tree, Petro Zillia and Jared Gold at Tibitz Creative Stages in Hollywood.
A few of those designers may return to highlight the latest looks for Fall 2002, said Schell, who added, “We want to represent a nice balance of L.A. designers from the contemporary young designer up to the designer ready-to-wear market.”
Additionally, Alison Meehan-Kennedy and Merritt Meade Loughran will return to produce the show and serve as sponsor liaison, respectively.
SPR said it is still in discussions with additional potential sponsors who are interested in Los Angeles market week. “We’re looking to build long-term relationships with our sponsors so that we can continue to organize these events in the future,” Schell said.
Schell said additional information will be announced shortly after the holidays. —Claudia Figueroa
