Federated Pulling Back on E-Commerce
Federated is pulling back on its e-commerce efforts. The retail giant will shutter its Bloomingdales.com e-commerce operations and plans to scale back its Macys.com Web site. The Bloomingdale’s Web site will be primarily a marketing site, although visitors will still be able to use the bridal registry and order items from the company catalog. The Macy’s Web site will focus on items including bridal registry items, home items, gifts and jewelry. Macy’s catalog will be shuttered completely.
